We attended many good seminars this week, ranging from previews of future travel and ports/anchorages, to finding a good weather window for the 170+ mile Gulf of Mexico crossing, to selection/financing/purchase/insurance of boats, to selecting marine navigation equipment, to Looping for women, to DIY skills for engine maintenance, to sponsored dinners and social events. Good information, and many opportunities to meet and get to know others who are traveling on the Great Loop, have completed it, or are planning and preparing for it. Each evening after dinner, members of each of these three groups were asked to introduce themselves and tell a bit about their expectations and experiences. These introductions have helped to build camaraderie and some have been hilarious!
