As we traveled north from St. Augustine, we knew we intended to take a side trip south on the St. Johns River. The Marina at Ortega Landing is located about 15 miles inside of the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway, past busy Jacksonville seaports and just past the downtown, and was an excellent place for us to stage for our trip up the St. Johns River and return for a few days of boat service after that trip.

We have seen and enjoyed many marinas, of many kinds, and Ortega Landing is among our favorites.
It offers floating docks (much easier boat entry and exit, and no need to set dock lines to deal with tides).

Ortega Landing also has a beautiful and well-maintained clubhouse and pool facilities, unlimited free ice, free bicycles to borrow, electronic security gates at dock entrances, good attention to the details of maintenance, and excellent customer service from marina staff.

Our time at Ortega Landing was relaxing and enjoyable, and we met or caught up with a number of boating friends.
Good times in a good place with good people!
