Greetings! Today we and many other boats left Delaware City Marina shortly after 0800 at high tide, idled along the long dock down the narrow creek, and entered the Delaware River.
We had a 2-3 mph push from tidal currents all the way downriver into the very wide Delaware Bay leading to the Atlantic.
We had smooth water, with some ship and pleasure boat traffic.
After an easy four hour cruise we entered the Cape May channel.
We arrived at the family-owned Utch’s Marina in Cape May early in the afternoon, got R&R fueled, tied up, and cleaned up, and then walked to an excellent late lunch at the nearby Lucky Bones restaurant.
Rhonda put out the word to other Loopers in the harbor about dock-tails at the gazebo. We shared experiences with people who started their travels a few days ago and others who completed the Loop a few years ago. Good to get to know these new friends!
It’s a good evening here in South Jersey!
