Presque Isle Pleasure

Our trip on near-flat Lake Huron from Harrisville to Presque Isle took us past historic lighthouses and picturesque islands.

Another early morning departure??!!

Presque Isle (pronounced “eel”, from the French) is a tiny peninsula in the North Woods of Michigan. The PI State Harbor is very nice, and very remote.

Todd, who owns Woody’s, the only restaurant in miles, was very accommodating, picking me up to use restaurant internet for a Zoom meeting, and later picking up the rest of our group for a good dinner.

On the way back to our boats, Todd drove us to the Presque Isle Lighthouse featured in “Pure Michigan” ads and the nearby rocky Lake Huron beach.

After this friendly welcome to PI, we watched a movie and called it a night. Another good day on the Loop!

  1. Wow. I continue to be amazed at all the new territory you are seeing “ up close”. What a remarkable adventure!
