My brother-in-law Matt Bonne and I started the northbound trip on Friday. Rhonda and her sister Shirley plan to join us “up north” after a few days.
The sisters helped us off the dock at Eldean Shipyard. We idled out the Holland channel into Lake Michigan, turned to starboard, and got up to cruising speed. After passing pier heads of the familiar ports of Grand Haven, Muskegon, and White Lake, and giving a blast of R&R’s horn to friends Bernie and Donna near Dunewood, we watched the “Jeep Invasion” swarm over the Silver Lake sand dunes before arriving at Snug Harbor Marina in Pentwater.

R&R performed flawlessly on her first long distance cruising day of the season. With sunshine, light winds, and near-flat seas, we enjoyed the trip.

When we arrived at Snug Harbor, brothers Jonathan and Andrew welcomed us, helped us tie up and fuel up, and suggested Pentwater restaurants and shops to visit.

We chose the Antler Bar for AYCE perch. Tasty!

We recommend Pentwater and the clean and friendly Snug Harbor Marina!
Yeah!! Trust you will have good weather the whole trip. Such pretty shores up there. Carl & Trudi
